Devotion 9/16, To be sound in my faith

Teach the older men to be temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love, and in endurance.
Titus 2:2

Worthy of respect! What a goal for our lives whether we are men or women! This work of the Spirit in our lives happens only as we dedicate ourselves to being what he is at work trying to accomplish in us.

It is not so important how a person starts out in life, but how we finish (2 Timothy 4:7).

Our daily training in reading scripture, discerning that scripture through commentaries and prayer, and having our daily conversation with the Lord are all the foundation to opening our hearts to the Holy Spirit, then to acting on His will in our lives. To try and live a Christ-like life.

Oh to stand before Christ one day and have Him say, “Well done good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21), this is my goal, to please Him in all I say, do, and think. To put a smile on the face of God, now that is ending well!

Thank You Father God for sending Jesus to pay my debt on the cross at Calvary with His precious blood. Help me to live for You each day that You grant me on earth. Thank you for your love, grace and mercies. I give You praise this day, Amen!

Surely God is with us, count your blessing! https://youtu.be/hD9-1ZQctV4

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
