Devotion 9/17, So easy to say thank you
[The Lord says,] “Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
Isaiah 46:4
We may outlive our friends and be forgotten by those who know us, but God will never leave us or forsake us. He will sustain, carry, protect, and rescue us.
It’s important to tell everyone who’s had a positive impact on your faith walk, “thank you”. But especially, tell the older Christians in your life “thank you” for helping you to become the person you are. Seek them out and show them respect, take an interest in their lives, especially if they are your parents or grandparents, God will bless you for it, because He tells us in many places in Scripture to do so!
2 Corinthians 4:16
Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
Thank you Mom! 89 and going strong!
Thank you, Dad! 94 and going strong!
Lord, thank you for promising to never forget me. Because of your faithfulness to your children, young “and” old, I know I can trust your promise to never leave me. I trust that no matter where I am or where I go, you will go with me. Thank you for your everlasting love, grace and mercies. In Jesus’ name I offer my thanks. Amen.
I am so thankful for all who have molded me to the person I am today. For those that the Lord has put in my path, thank you. And I am most thankful for the goodness of God. He continues to bless me everyday with the most amazing family and friends, yep, that includes all those I share this devotion with, thank you. Thank you, Lord.
