“He will cover you with his feathers; you will take refuge under his wings. His faithfulness will be a protective shield.” Psalms 91:4

For me, this psalm is so comforting.

In trouble or at peace, the psalmist is making a bold and stubborn declaration. When we make the Lord our dwelling place (v. 9) His shelter through difficult, troubling times is our hope. He is our hope.

Trouble and tough times will come, but so will refuge for those who have set their hearts on Christ. He will give His angels charge over us and answer when we call. We were never promised a life without hardship, a life without very real terrors and danger, but we are promised His presence with us, the security of His refuge around us.

Set our hearts firmly on the hope of His shelter and His deliverance though it all. God is with us always, or refuge and our strength.

Thank You, Lord, that no matter what circumstances invade my life, there is no evil or harm that the enemy can inflict on me, except as You permit for my eternal good and the glory of Your name. Thank You that as Your child, my life is in Your hands, and I pray that I may draw closer to You, day by day, and seek refuge under the shadow of your protective wings of love. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

When life’s storms are raging, You are my refuge, my protector, my strength, Lord. Thank you for being at my side always, lest I forget. You never leave me, I leave you. I pray for strength of focus on You in everything I say and do today and all my tomorrows.
