Devotion 10/8, Trust in the Lord
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25
Courage helps us step out of fear’s paralysis and turn its nervous edge into power. Fear is such a paralyzing emotion, robbing us of vitality, of good decision making ability, and strength. Satan cannot take our mind, our attitude, our faith, and most of all, he cannot take our relationship with God given to us through Jesus.
Satan has two goals, to keep the unsaved in their lost condition, and to consistently try to get the child of God to stumble in their life for Christ, he is relentless in his purpose and we must never forget that for one moment. We who know Christ however, have nothing whatsoever to fear from the devil or anyone else. Jesus has already defeated satan at the cross where He shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins! It is a fact that the unsaved truly cannot understand our trust in the Lord, to them it is foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:18), therefore we should expect them to mock us. But that should have no effect on our walk for Christ, we are to keep our eyes fixed on Him and obey His Word no matter what those around us may say. When we stay grounded in Christ we are more than conquerors through Him (Romans 8:28-39). The Lord will keep His own dearly loved children safe!
Do you know Christ as Lord and Savior? If not I beg of you to accept His blood as the sacrifice for your sin by placing your faith in His finished work for you on the cross. It is the most important decision you will ever make, for your eternity rests on your choice. John 14:6 says that Jesus is the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him. There is only one way to God and eternity in heaven, that being through His Son Jesus Christ!
Lord, thank you for triumphing through Jesus over all that I fear. You have not only given me a hero I can trust, but a hope by which I can live victoriously. In the name of Jesus I give thanks. Amen
Fear not as Jesus Christ can see us through any trials that are in our path.
A personal relationship with Him gives us hope and strength to endure any obstacle.
