Devotion 10/12, Our Rock of Ages

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock Eternal.
Isaiah 26:4

The last few words of our verse states that the Lord is our Rock eternal. Can anyone mess with the Creator of all that exists, or even His children? The answer is a resounding “NO”! So when we, as His children, are in distress we can depend on Him to be all the protection and comfort we need to endure troubles in life. He is before us and behind us, seeing all that comes our way and faithfully caring for us always.
God is indeed our protection in all areas of life. He stands between us and the devil who wants to destroy us. Jesus has defeated sin, death, and hell on the cross, and when we trust in Him and His finished work there, sin has no power over us. Through Christ we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37, 1 Corinthians15:57). We should praise Him for all that He has done and will continue to do for us? He absolutely is our Rock eternal!
When we see mountains we feel small, knowing not only how much larger it is than we are, but also how much longer it has been here than we have been. But the Lord was long before any mountain and will be long after it has melted into nothing. He is the only rock of security and stability. All the forevers we have are found in him.
Trust, why would we trust anyone anymore than our Creator, the creator of all, the beginning and eternal. There is knowone that knows more about us, has sacrificed more for us, that is with us 100% of the time, or loves us more. All we have to do at anytime is call on God, he’s waiting and wanting to not only be on our hearts and minds, but to be the Rock of our soul.
What more peace and assurance is there than God?

Eternal I Am, who is and was and will be forever, I trust that you are and will always be my God, my Redeemer, my Savior, my Shepherd, and my Father. I commit all my tomorrows to you. Please Lord, send your Holy Spirit to live in my soul, that I may be a reflection of all the love, grace and mercies you keep pouring out on me. I’m a sinner, but I can always count on you, no matter my circumstance, to be my Rock and salvation. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Oh Lord, “til I see thee on thy judgement throne”, on that glorious day, be the Rock of my soul. I pray for all that are lost, that they turn to you, for you are our answer, our protector, our salvation. I seek you in all I say and do and that it be pleasing to you. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
I’m going old style today for our song. It’s been around awhile and stood the test of time, enjoy. I pray for your peace, that you have God on your heart today and all your tomorrows. No matter your circumstance, God is there to help you through it. Take comfort in Him.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
