Devotion 10/21, God’s Perfect Will

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is โ€” his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Romans 12:2

Don’t conform to this world. What we think is one of the places of greatest spiritual warfare. Sloppy thinking is more than sloppy, it’s dangerous because we are fed messages constantly that distort God’s truth and holy values. But rather than being incensed by the world acting like the world, we should be transformed by renewing our minds and doing what Paul said he did โ€” make every thought, every word, captive for Christ. We often think a tithe is giving ten percent of our money, but an even more vital tithe is giving ten percent of our totally undivided thought time to the things of God!
This world has always hated Christ and it will hate His followers as well, especially when we seek through the indwelling Holy Spirit to live holy and pleasing lives to God. He exposes the sin in their own lives making them feel guilty and very uncomfortable around us.
When a person accepts Christ as Lord and Savior a change happens, the Holy Spirit of God takes up residence inside of them. No longer can a person who has truly become born again continue to live in sinful ways and not be convicted by the Spirit for doing so. We will still sin, but when the Holy Spirit makes us aware of that sin we are to do as 1John 1:9 says and confess it to God.
There are many that say they are Christian’s, believers, but our behavior, our actions are witness to what we believe. The words and actions from the pulpit to every member of the congregation should be a direct reflection of scripture, not a commentary on social issues. God’s Word is to be our focus and guide in everything we say and do.
Those of us who call God Father through faith in Jesus Christ should purpose in our hearts and lives to live solely for Him. Turning our backs on the ways of the world, yet going into the world to share Jesus with them. We are to be IN the world but not OF the world.

Thank You Jesus for dying for me, thank you for loving me and for Your indwelling Holy Spirit. Help me to be a reflection of You each and every day. You are my Rock, my Comforter, my Salvation. I pray that you lead me from a sinful life to one that is pleasing to you in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

This song probably will never hit the top 10, but it’s so common for so many.
I pray through prayer and scripture, those seeking answers will come to know my Lord, and His perfect will. In Jesus’ name in pray. Amen

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
