Devotion 12/2, Yes, God is With Us, Rejoice!
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:1-2 and 14
If we could fully understand all that God is and does then we would be God! HE created us, His thinking and actions are far above anything we will ever fully comprehend. Our part as His children is to believe what He tells us in Scripture for He is truth. What we can understand is that we human beings needed a Savior. God, acting in love, grace and mercy, sent a part of Himself…Jesus Christ, to come to this earth and take on the form of a man to bleed and die for our sins so that we could, by faith in Him, have an eternity in heaven instead of hell, which was where we were headed!
When Jesus was on this earth and lived among men, they beheld the visible outshining of His glory which took place on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-2). Peter, James, and John saw His face shinning like the sun, and His garments gleaming like bright light. They got to see a preview of the splendor which Christ will have when He comes back to this earth one day!
Do not let the world’s teaching which has it’s base in satan, put any doubt in your mind at all that Jesus was God in the flesh when He walked this earth and died for our sins. Scripture tells us the truth, we must accept it by faith, or reject it, the choice is ours. I choose to trust God at His word for He CANNOT lie (Titus 1:2). Mankind…..well, he lies and is easily fooled constantly! Whose word are you going to trust?
Father, thank you for putting me where I am. I know I am here to do your work and carry on Jesus’ ministry. Help me seize the opportunities you give me today to bless others in the name of Jesus. In that mighty name of my Lord I pray. Amen.
We are here to bless others, “not just in word, but in deed and truth!”
God with us! Think about the awesomeness of what we are about celebrate. God came in the flesh because of His love for us! A love like His the world will never experience but through Jesus Christ. Lord, I thank you for your passion for my soul. I seek to serve you in all I say and do, and in my own little way, spread Your gospel by the way I live my life today and all my tomorrows. I pray Your will be done and for the patience to wait for it. In your name, Amen.
