Devotion 12/10 Yes, Jesus Loves Me

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
Hebrews 1:1-2

All throughout the Old Testament we see God speaking to His people through His prophets who were divinely inspired spokesmen for God, and were His honored servants. God spoke to them in various methods, some through dreams, visions, writings, symbols…etc. But no matter the method, these messages from God were preliminary and all leading up to the message that would come through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.

The prophecies of the OT have now been overshadowed by God’s final revelation to mankind through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus came to this earth, God in the flesh walked and taught among the human race. Astounding isn’t it! To think that God would love us so much to send Jesus, His precious Son, to this wicked world to bleed and die for our sins. In John 14:9 Christ says to Philip, “anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.” Jesus was God in the flesh when He walked this earth, make no mistake about it, He was fully God and fully man. There are many false teachings that say Christ was not God, but the Bible says many times that He was, and God’s Word is truth, man’s word is fallible.

God has appointed Jesus Christ heir of all things, the universe belongs to Him and HE will reign over it. In fact, our verse goes on to say that it was through Christ that the world or universe was even made. This puts an end to the false teaching that Jesus was created, He was not created, He was God. Jesus was present at creation and made the universe. It simply could not be more clear, He brought into existence the heavens, the earth, the human race, and the divine plan of the ages. Every created thing, both spiritual and physical was made by Him!

Jesus came to this world to atone for our sins. He came and completed what all the prophets of old were pointing to. All that God revealed to them made perfect sense with the coming of the Christ child, with His death upon the cross, and His glorious resurrection from the grave on the third day! What an act of “love”! It’s hard to comprehend such a devine plan founded on love.

Thank you Lord Jesus, my Savior, and my King of Kings for completing the plan of salvation and for redeeming me to God the Father through Your own sinless blood, all out of you abundant love. I seek to live for You each and every day that You give me, Amen!

My actions tell Him so. Yes Jesus loves me, the bible tells me so. The children’s lullaby used so often at bedtime is relevant all the time, even for adults. When things are rough as we go through the trials of life or just reflecting on His many blessings, take comfort, Jesus loves “you”! He loved you at creation, He loves you as you live life’s journey of ups and downs, and he will love you through eternity, for as a believer in Christ, you are a child of God!
Lord, your love is so great. I give you all honor and glory and thanks for the personal relationship you seek with me. I pray that I live my life for you out of love and others see you in me by what I say and do. In Jesus name I pray this day and all of my tomorrows, Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
