Devotion 12/30, Trust in Him!

While [Joseph and Mary] were [in Bethlehem], the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:6-7

Oh, how Mary must have been filled with such excitement to finally, after a very long 9 months, be holding her Savior in her arms. Can you just imagine how she could not take her eyes off of Him? Not only was He her first born, but He was the Son of God, He was her Savior!
She most surely would have been so thankful that He was okay, His breath was going in and out as it should, all His little fingers and toes were present and accounted for, and His face was so beautiful for it was the face of God. Salvation had come, and she was cradling Him in her arms and her heart!

How about you? Do you have room for Jesus in your heart and life? He loves you so much that He came to this earth and died for your sins. In simple child-like faith in Him and His bloodshed for you, you can have your sins forgiven and spend eternity in heaven when you leave this earth. Everyone will spend eternity somewhere, it will either be heaven or hell. Accept the free gift of salvation that Christ is offering and be in heaven, reject Him, and spend eternity in hell where there will be pain and anguish that never ends.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works so that no one can boast.

John 5:24
Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; for he has crossed over from death to life.

Romans 5:8-9
But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified through His blood, how much more will we be saved from God’s wrath through Him!

Give me a heart of faith, O God, so that I might always see your sovereignty and grace being poured out on me in special ways. I am thrilled that you, the Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe, chose to enter my world as a child. Thank you for trusting your wonderful salvation to human flesh so we could know that you deemed us worthy of entering our world to make us right for yours. In the name of your Son, Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Oh what trust Mary had. Can you imagine, she was told she would be carrying the Son of God, the Messiah. I can only imagine how she and Joseph would envision His birth, the pomp and circumstance, special treatment for the birth of the new king if kings. And God’s plan was so different-humble beginnings in a smelly stable, no party or celebration but but instead humble admiration and awe by a few that followed a light to this place. But Mary’s trust in God never wavered. What a lesson, we don’t always see God’s plan for us, but we should always trust in Him.
Lord, my prayer to you today is that I submit to your will with my whole heart and trust in You. For your plan is and will always be best for me. Lord, I pray Your will be done in Your time. Thank you for being in my heart. I seek to be your humble servant every day til I see you in heaven. In Jesus name. AMEN.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
