Devotion 1/12, Spirit of the Living God

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18

The child of God is to be fixated on Christ and living our lives according to His will and purpose for us. We cannot see Christ physically, He is in heaven and therefore unseen to us while we are on this earth.
The “seen” things are to be unimportant to us, while the “unseen” things, those of the spiritual realm, are to be most valuable to us! The goal of our existence is to bring glory to God. It is to show His love to those we meet, to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the yet unsaved, and to live our lives in obedience to His Word. These are the things that should occupy our hearts, minds, and lives as God’s children.

Eternal Father and God of all peoples, help me see more clearly the spiritual, eternal, and real world of the unseen. I only want to know you, your truth, and your character so I may more appropriately display them to others and help find you in the world of the unseen. Please grant me greater success at reaching others, to your glory. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Lord, I pray that everyday through prayer, scripture and song your Holy Spirit moves my soul to do your will. I need to change my focus from this world and my selfish circumstance to a constant focus on you. You “are” the only truth and yours is the only way to eternal life. I pray my actions are pleasing to you and for your kingdom in all I say and do. In your name I pray, Amen

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
