Devotion 1/14, A Love Like This

[Joshua said,] “For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over. He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God.”
Joshua 4:23-24

A narrative by Philip Ware: God demonstrates his love to us because he is loving. God demonstrates his love to us because he knows we would be lost without it. God demonstrates his love to us because he wants to show his power to the peoples of the world. God demonstrates his love for us because he wants us to know his awesome might to save. God demonstrates his love for us so we will deeply respect, honor, and revere him.

God’s love is so powerful, but more important, when we accept Christ as our personal Savior, we experience a new life, a new beginning. And we are showered with neverending love from our Lord and Savior. We are not judged but washed and cleansed by His blood, and the Holy Spirit dwells in our soul.
I find each time I stop and do my devotions is like a new beginning, a fresh start. I get to experience His love again like its brand new as He reveals Himself through His scriptures.

Heavenly Father, thank you for taking for always being by my side as I travel life’s journey. I am secure in your love that I can endure this journey and all the obstacle and trials that will come my way. Thank you for being my Protector, my Comforter, my Counselor, my Rock and most of all my Salvation. In Your name I pray and give thanks that you always provide. Amen

I know I used her music before, but I find myself asking this same question quite often. God showers His love down on me in so many ways, with so many people. Not because He needs too or I want Him to, but quite simply because He can! Thank you Lord for accepting me just as I am and loving me for what I can be.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
