Devotion 1/15, Take Refuge In Him

Serve the LORD with fear and rejoice with trembling. … Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Psalm 2:11-12

As God’s children we are to have a reverential fear towards God. This is not that we are to be “afraid” of God, but it is speaking of the highest respect that we are to have and show to Him.
God created us to serve, worship, and love Him. Jesus even said he did not come to be served, but to serve. God promises that we will be blessed and have protection when we take our refuge in Him!

To serve the Lord simply means to seek His will each day and then follow it. Many times this will mean abandoning our own will. God always knows what is the very best for us because He made us. He knit us together in our mother’s womb with love and care. Surely we can serve our Father God with devotion and with a joyful attitude!

The incredible reality of God’s grace is this: God, who thundered at Mount Sinai and spoke into existence the universe with its marvelous expanse, loves us and longs for us to draw near and find refuge in him. We can rejoice in reverent awe. We can praise with holy fear. We can rest secured because our trust is not in what is human, what is temporary, and what is vulnerable, but in our Lord. The LORD is our God!

Forgive me, Father, for the times that I have cheapened your grace with inappropriate speech and irresponsible behavior. You are God alone. You alone are worthy of my praise. Thank you for not only being holy and mighty, but also being near and providing me a place of refuge and protection. Thank you, dear Father, for being God! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

The loving arms of God are waiting to embrace us. They are always there to Comfort, Protect, Provide and Shelter us. And we are always showered in His love and grace. What security we have in Him.
We only have to accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, God does the rest. Focus on Him and He will provide.
Lord, I keep stumbling and falling short, but you never fail me, you are always by my side to pick me up and provide. Thank you. You are the sustenance of my life, Thank You Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
