Devotion, 1/21, God is Always There
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
Psalm 139:9-10
I find great comfort in knowing that no matter where I go, from the moment of my conception to the day of my death, God is always there. He is there to guide me and sustain me. Even when I’m in places I am not supposed to be, doing things I am not supposed to do, he is still there. I can turn to him in repentance and receive his grace. I can turn to him in need and receive his strength. I can turn to him and know I am not alone.
There is no place on this earth where God is not. He is omnipresent. And even more precious for every person who has placed their faith in Christ, His holy hand will guide us and hold us fast. It is a glorious thing to be a child of God!
God I thank You for all Your precious promises in Your Word. I thank You for loving me, for sending Jesus to die for my sins and for the indwelling Holy Spirit to guide and comfort me. Help me to live my life in obedience to You and to bring You glory all the days of my life. In Jesus’nane I pray, Amen.
Sometimes when life seems like its all over the place, out of control, crazy, overwhelming, I just have to step back and take a deep breath. Then I realize I left God, He wasn’t my focus. But He never left me.
Lord, I am weak, even on my best days I fall short of your expectations for me. But I know in your endless love and grace You see me as flawless. Thank you. Thank you for being you, for accepting me as me. I seek the strength to stay focused on You and Your plan for me. Thank you Lord. Amen
