Devotion 1/30, Speak Jesus!

Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

Acts 4:19-20

The very same should be true for us today. We are to open our mouths and tell people in our lives about Jesus and all that He has accomplished for us. How He shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins, rose again and is in heaven interceding for us before God each and every day. About the peace, comfort, and joy that we have because of Him, and how they too can experience this. That is why we are here, to tell others of the love God has for them through Jesus Christ. How can we be silent?

We can’t contain what we’ve experienced in Jesus. We can’t help but tell about what we’ve heard. No ruler, no threat, has been able to completely stop the voice of God from being heard through his people’s witness. Sharing our faith happens out of the overflow of our experiences in Christ and our relationship with Christ. When we share our faith in this way, the authenticity of our witness can be rejected or ridiculed, but it can’t be erased. We have experienced God’s work in our lives. How dare we keep silent? We can’t!

Holy Father, please help me better know how to reach the lost around me and please bless our evangelistic leaders as they discern your way of reaching the lost in our world today through your Word. In the name of Jesus, the atoning sacrifice for my sins, and the sins of the whole world, I pray. Amen.
Thank You Jesus for loving me and for redeeming me to God with Your precious blood. Help me to continue to share You with those in my life who need You so. This is our commission, to share You with all we come in contact with in Word and deed. Lord, I seek to serve You today and all of my tomorrows and ask only that Your Will be done, for your plan is perfect. In Christ’s name I pray, Amen.

This song rocks my world.  I have used it before, but it seems so appropriate. When you speak Jesus, satan is helpless, defeated.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
