Devotion 2/16, The Good Seed

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Galatians 6:7
We’re not going to fool God. While we might put up a facade for others, God knows our hearts. So, if we spend our wealth, time, and interest in other things and give God the crumbs, we need to know that we are not going to reap a bountiful, spiritual harvest. What we do to others as children of God is equally important in sowing what is good for all, be witnesses for Christ in “all” we say and do. In time of illness and pain, addictions and divisiveness, we must do good to all: each person, each life, matters to God and it should matter to us.
According to how we have “sown” we will “reap”. For those things that we have done to further the gospel of Jesus Christ we will receive rewards, and there will be a loss of rewards for those times we have failed to do so because of our own selfishness and pride. Failing to meet those challenges God puts in our path each day with a Christ-like response and prayer are those opportunities to sow the seed for God’s kingdom.
Thank You Jesus for shedding Your blood for the forgiveness of my sins. Help me to use my resources in this life for Your will and Your kingdom and not my own. I give You all praise and honor this day, Amen!
O LORD God Almighty, who sees all things and knows all hearts, please give me the wisdom to see the people in whom I need to invest myself. Help me, O Lord, to seize the opportunities you place before me to do good to others. I ask for this help, in Jesus’ name and to honor Jesus in the way I serve others. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
