Devotion 2/24, Support our church leaders

Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.  Hebrews 13:17
A great responsibility is placed on our church leaders. It is a responsibility given them by God and is never to be taken lightly.
Those who are in authority in our churches today will stand before God and give an account to Him of the manner in which they watched over their congregations. They are responsible for making sure that all the teaching that takes place within the body of believers is “Scripturally” sound, that the spiritual and physical needs of the people are met, and that they do their very best to make sure that there is peace among the congregation. As you can imagine this is a huge undertaking and requires the constant help of the Holy Spirit of God!
We often fail to realize that one of the best ways we can improve Kingdom leadership is by being better followers. Kingdom leadership means that leaders must answer to God for how they have led. Kingdom citizenship means that we will be held responsible for obeying and blessing our leaders. What have you done to show your love, respect, and support for your church leaders lately?
Almighty King, all authority and dominion belong to you. You alone are worthy of power and the right to rule. Please bless our leaders at church so that they may lead by serving and following Christ. Please empower me to follow their leadership in ways that exalt the cause of Christ and bless the leaders in your Kingdom. May my life never be a burden to them or an embarrassment to You. In Jesus’ name, I ask it. Amen.
God, thank You for the safeguards that You have put in place for Your children in this life. Help us to be encouragers to those church leaders that You have put in our lives and not discouragers. Thank You for Your Word which teaches us about Your love and care for us. I ask that the Holy Spirit guide our church leaders in scripture with a discerning heart. I will follow you Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
