Devotion 3/5, Take heart my friend!

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12 NKJV
When Jesus was talking to the Pharisees in John 8, He told them not to walk in darkness but in the light of life.
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life, John 8:12 NKJV.
The Pharisees rejected that notion because Jesus was saying He was the light of life, that He is God. Jesus went on to explain that He actually is God. The Pharisees then asked Him:
Where is Your Father, John 8:19?
Jesus answered telling them once again that He is God:
You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also, John 8:19.
The Pharisees knew what Jesus was saying when He said that He is the light of life, that He is in fact God. If we don’t know that Jesus is God, we will always walk in darkness just like the Pharisees walked. Without knowing who He is, walking with Jesus will be impossible.
What a comforting thought, if we are seeking Christ in our life, studying His Word, talking to Him in prayer daily He will be by our side, always. Just think of how rough that path is for those without our Savior and friend by their side. That’s God’s work, putting them in our path for the purpose of sharing the gospel of Christ and giving them hope.
Take heart by friend, as brothers and sisters in Christ. Lord, I pray that as I walk this path, your Holy Spirit be in my heart that I can be a worthy witness to those that are lost. I pray I am the best witness to your child I can be by choosing my words wisely and truthfully to comfort and give hope to those that are hurting, sick and straying from Your ways. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
