Devotion 3/12, A Family of Faith

I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.
Romans 15:14
Paul reminds us of how important, competent, and useful we can be to each other. While our hope is in God, he has given us each other to help us in our walk of faith. Let’s not live as isolated islands of faith, but lean on each other and learn from each other as we look to Christ for our salvation and strength.
Find a church that loves Jesus with all their hearts! A church that teaches from God’s Word and will take you in and treat you as a fellow brother or sister in Christ. We need to be around other followers of Christ, to encourage each other and to spur each other on in our daily walk for Him. This is taught by Paul and many others throughout God’s Word. We will need this till the day we are with Jesus in heaven! God never intended for us to go through this life alone. We need each other for encouragement, guidance, and accountability. There is so much joy to be found in having a group of fellow brothers and sisters in Christ that are there for you in good times and bad! The family of faith is one of the most rewarding and joyful bonds one can feel. And when you feel that joy, you feel you are “home” with family.
If you do not have this kind of fellowship in your life, I pray that you seek it out today. Enjoy that fellowship that God wants you to have and watch as it blesses your life more than you can imagine!
Thank you, dear Father, for placing the people in my life who have shaped, taught, corrected, and supported me in my life with you. I am thankful for your support of me through their words, example, and touch. Thank you for giving me a family to travel with on my journey home to you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
By the grace of God, we are brothers and sisters in Christ. We are called to build each other up, to lift each other up, to lift Christ up in praise, worship and prayer. Thank you Lord for such love as You give us that we may please you in what we say and what we do for your kingdom today. Thank you for our family of faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
