Devotion 3/17, I Lift My Voice!

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true — even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.  1 John 5:20
Jesus came to reveal God to us. He has given us the clearest picture of what God is really like and how God would interact with us. Because of Jesus, we can know God, the only one who is truly genuine. Because we are in Christ, we can share a special bond with the Father and find a new quality of life in him. This is lasting life that won’t end when our bodies die. This is eternal life that begins now (John 5:24), as we walk with him each day, and extends forever (John 3:16-17, 10:25-26). The eternal and transcendent God to make himself known to us is grace. For him to make himself known to us in Jesus is salvation!
John is closing the epistle of 1 John the way he opened it, declaring that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh (the Incarnation). When Christ came to this earth He revealed God the Father to us, for we only need to look at Him to understand who the true God is. There are many false gods, only one true God, God the Father, and He can only be known through the Lord Jesus Christ.
Precious Lord Jesus, thank You for loving me and for coming to this earth to lay down Your life for mine. Thank You for revealing God the Father to me and for putting me in right relationship with Him. I give You all honor, praise, and glory this day my Redeemer, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
