Devotion 3/23, Hear My Prayer
Hear my prayer, O LORD; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me. Psalm 86:6-7
There are times in life when it seems that we have God’s ear, and times when it appears that we don’t. The truth is that He always hears and answers our prayers for He is God. Our problem is we do not always get the exact answer we want!
We know from Scripture that He will work all things out for our good when we are called according to His purposes (Romans 8:28). When His answer is not what we wanted we can either choose to trust that He knows what is best for us, or we can become angry and bitter towards Him.
It is at times like this that our faith is tested, how deep does our trust in God run? Do we trust Him only when things are going our way, or do we have solid faith in Him even when things are going the opposite of our wishes?
Almighty God, the only true Healer of disease and Mender of broken hearts, please hear the cry today of those I love who are in such desperate situations. May your will be done in their lives with tenderness and grace. Please help them experience your abiding presence. Lord, please be near me so I can help them see your answer to their prayers. Forever yours in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Father God, thank You for always hearing my prayers and for answering them according to Your perfect will instead of my flawed one. I give You all praise, honor, and glory this day, Amen!
