Devotion 3/29, Sing a New Song!
And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.”
Revelation 5:9
There are days that I certainly do not feel “worthy” of God’s love. And, outside of Christ I would not be worthy of His love. But praise His Holy Name my salvation is not based on my fleeting feelings! No, it is based on what Jesus did at the cross, His work there is what makes me God’s child. There is nothing I did to earn my salvation, and there is nothing I can do to keep my salvation. It is an eternal gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9) that no one can ever take from me for I am sealed by the Holy Spirit of God, and no one breaks His seal!
Ephesians 1:13
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit.
We definitely have a new and beautiful song to sing, a song of eternal life for death has been defeated at the cross. What a truly wonderful Savior we have and serve, no wonder Christians should rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, REJOICE (Philippians 4:4)!
Have you thanked Him today for rescuing you from yourself and making you God’s child through faith in His blood?!
My Redeemer, thank You for going to that cross and paying for my sins with Your innocent, holy, worthy, and precious blood. Help me to be a true reflection of You to all those I meet today, for Your glory, the Author and Finisher of my faith. In Your name I pray, Amen!
A great song to start my day singing and praising our God!
