Devotion 4/6, Our Deliverer!

Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you.
Proverbs 20:22
Revenge is Satan’s way of destroying both the innocent and the offender.
This verse goes completely against our culture, doesn’t it? In today’s society we are taught to get people back for any wrong they do us, in fact we may even be considered weak if we do not! Well as is always the case, God’s way and the world’s way s are opposite.
Romans 12:19
Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay” says the Lord.
what are we to do when we are treated poorly by others. God has an answer for that!
Romans 12:21
Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.
Father God, thank You for your eternal love for me. Thank You for sending Jesus, Your one and only precious Son, to this wicked world to die for my sins. Help me to exhibit Your love and grace to those in my world each day, for Your glory and in Jesus’ name, Amen!
Vengeance can consume us. Anger takes our focus away from God’s word. These are two of satan’s greatest weapons. But when we speak Jesus and consume ourselves with the Word, those chains of sin are broken.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
