Devotion 4/9, I’m alive because “He Lives”!
The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to the place where it sets.
Psalm 50:1
This verse, as many others in Scripture, speaks to the total and final Authority of God. Who else speaks and the earth obeys? The answer; no one, only God! Not only does the sun, depicted in this verse, obey Him. But also the wind, seas, rain…etc., all do as He commands (Job 28:25-27). There can be no question as to the complete Authority, Majesty, and Sovereignty of our God. He created this earth, controls this earth, and cares for this earth, It spins around on its’ axis because of Him. The sun, moon, stars, and planets were hung and are maintained by Him.
As children of God, who controls all things, what have we to fear? Since we know that God created us and all that exists, surely we can trust that He will care for us, His dearly loved children. We can rest in the fact that He controls all that touches our lives and works everything out for His purposes and our good. What a wonderful position we are in before God because of the work of Christ on the cross. We have a lot to be thankful for every single day of our lives!
Father God, thank you for loving me, even when I am so unlovable. Thank You for Your faithfulness and for Your perfect care and keeping of me. I give You all honor, praise, and glory this day Abba, Amen!
Because He Lives!
