Devotion 4/13, Share His Word

For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
1 Corinthians 1:25
The Gospel of Jesus Christ, to some it is complete foolishness because the Holy Spirit has not opened their understanding yet. They are looking at it with eyes that are centered on this world’s view, not the eyes of faith that they need to truly see what Jesus has accomplished for them on the cross. They are still trusting in their own “intelligence” instead of trusting in Christ, who loves them and died to free them from the bondage of sin if only they would accept Him as Savior.
At first glance, the cross is a hideous and horrible tool. In our human wisdom, we could never visualize using a man crucified as criminal scum to capture the hearts of the world. But God does. The cross transcends cultural boundaries, overcomes language barriers, and reaches across racial differences. The cross is God’s demonstration of foolishness and weakness (1 Corinthians 1:18-25), yet through it, Jesus conquered death and brought our hearts to him.
As God’s children we are to show the yet unsaved in our lives the love of Christ Jesus. Yes, it is crucial to tell them of Jesus, but living out our faith in Him for them to see can have a vast impact on their view of Christ.
Father God, thank You for sending Jesus to this world to rescue me from my own foolish thinking. Thank You for opening my eyes to the truth of Christ. Help me to be a faithful example of You to all those I come into contact with each day, for Your glory Abba, Amen!
We are born to serve our Lord. His story of amazing love is our purpose, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our celebration comes on praising and glorifying Him, in what we say and do.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
