Devotion 5/1, I want to see Jesus in me

But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
Amos 5:24
The people of Israel were bringing sacrifices and offerings to the Lord on their feast days, but their lives were corrupt, so their offerings were rejected by God. He would rather have righteousness than ritual!
What a clear and current message for us today, thousands of years later. God still desires our heart. So many people sit in church every Sunday, but their hearts are far from God, the very one that they are there to worship and praise! Just as with the Israelites years ago, they are serving other “gods” so their rituals of worship are worthless to God. They have an appearance of godliness, but deny the power of God (2Timothy 3:5).
When people observe us do they see that we have a religion or a relationship with God through Jesus Christ? It doesn’t mean anything to God to be “religious”, but oh, when a person wants a relationship with Him through faith in Christ, all of heaven rejoices (Luke 15:7)! You see God knows that when we truly give our hearts to Christ, our actions will bear it out in our lives.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Holy Father, I can never say thank You enough for Your love for me. I know how fickle I can be at times Lord, but Your love is constant and faithful! I just want to praise You this day Abba by coming before You with a humble and contrite heart. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ to this earth to die for my sins so that I can have a relationship with You forever and ever, Amen!
Do people see Jesus in me? Lord, may my words and actions be a reflection of You to all that cross my path, Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
