Devotion 5/15, I Believe!
Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.
Psalm 10:12
This is so applicable to us as God’s children today, isn’t it? When we are going through struggles in life and it “seems” as though satan is winning and God is remaining silent and far off, we can cling to Christ and rest assured that no matter the circumstances, God is our Protector and Defender! His watchful eye is on every single thing that occurs in our life, nothing transpires in our day that He doesn’t allow. And if He allows it, He will give us all the strength, mercy, and grace to endure it, coming out from it with our peace and joy, which is founded in Him alone, intact and thriving!
We live in a fallen and sinful world that is filled with people who need Jesus, people that are subject to the devil and victims to his evil ways. We are their chance to see a glimpse of Christ and accept Him for themselves. But we cannot be good and faithful witnesses for Him if we go around moaning and complaining about every unpleasant thing that happens in our lives. However, if we trust God in the midst of our troubles and be confident that God has a good plan for us because He loves us, the unsaved may see this and want to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ for themselves! What an opportunity we have to shine for Christ in a dark world!
God of hope, do not be far from us in our dark and menacing days. Please restore the joy of life and the hope for good things. Please give us comfort in our times of pain and anguish. Lift up your hand and act to bring repentance and renewal to our time, families, culture, congregations, and us. Out of your grace and mercy, please bring your healing and deliverance. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Lord, as I walk through this day, may all those in my path know “I Believe”!
May my words and my actions reflect Your love, grace and mercy, and the Holy Spirit touch that soul that is helpless, lost or hurting. In Jesus’ name I pray. “I Believe”! Amen.
