Devotion 5/17, He Will Provide!

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
Matthew 6:33 states that when we seek God first, all the things that we need will be given to us. Notice it says NEED, not WANT. There is a huge difference between the two. God is not some big Santa Claus in the sky granting our every wish if we are good little boys and girls. However, God knows much better than we do what is good for us and He will only give us what we can handle, nothing more, nothing less for He is a good and loving Father.
Paul gives the Philippians this promise only after he has emphasized to them that he had found the Lord’s grace sufficient in good times and tough times, in times of plenty and in times of extreme lack. The key to this promise is God’s provision and our trust in him to satisfy what we most need in Christ Jesus. When our hearts yearn to be full of the Lord, to be pleasing to him, to be blessed by his presence, to be given the assurance of life beyond death, surely we can rely on God supplying everything we truly need!
Heavenly Father, thank You for the greatest gift of all, salvation through Your Son, my precious Lord Jesus. Thank You for the time and material things that You have given me. Help me to use all my resources for You, to further Your work in this world, for Your glory Abba, Amen!
Father, you have blessed me with so much. I pray I use your gifts to bless others as I have been blessed. Send your Holy Spirit to fill my soul, to strengthen my spiritual personality, to grow in patience, trust and understanding, that I might love as You have love me. The knowledge that you will provide gives me the peace to endure all. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.

Praise the God of Heaven and earth. Whom shall I fear? The God I love and trust, the Lord of Heaven’s host, holds the whole world in His strong and faithful hands and He will never leave nor forsake those who trust in Him! And He sees me, He hears me, He loves me!
