Devotion 5/21, Betrayal for “less” than 30 pieces of silver!

After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, “I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me.”
John 13:21
Have you heard the phrase, “We think so badly of old Judas for betraying the Lord for 30 pieces of silver, but how many times do we betray him for nothing?” Ouch! What makes this so difficult for us to bear is Jesus’ anguish knowing one of his own would betray him. Let’s make every effort and call upon God’s strength so that such betrayal can never be true of us! And if it ever is, let’s make sure we run toward His grace with an honest desire to escape sin, come back to Him, and live loyally for Him!
Jesus, I am sorry for the times I have broken your heart with my rebellion and neglect.  I want to live more vibrantly for you, Jesus, so others may see and come to know you because he Holy Spirit gives me the right word or action. It is in your precious name, Jesus, and I pray to honor the Father and His holy name. Amen.
I find myself humming this in my head quite alot. We’ll soon be done with troubles and trials. Revive our hearts, Lord, that we might live our lives as a reflection of your love and grace.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
