Devotion 5/31, Sing Unto the Lord!
I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. Psalm 108:3
This Psalm is penned by David and in the first two verses he is steadfast in his determination to praise the Lord for His never- ending love and faithfulness. So eager is he to sing his praise to the Lord that he rises while it is still dark and greets the dawn with songs of praise!
Then he says in our verse for today that he will not just praise the Lord in private, but he will praise Him among the nations, and sing of Him among the people. In other words, he is going to let everyone know about the Lord God through his speech and through his songs.
God wants us to praise him — not just in our sanctuaries and churches, but with our friends and across cultures. He wants us to sing in ways that help other people know the “heart song” of our Redeemer’s love. So let’s sing of God’s love among all the peoples!
Have you taken time to praise and thank God today for His love and faithfulness to you? He loves to hear from you and it will lift your spirits like nothing else can to praise our Creator for all that He is!
Father God, thank You for loving me and for sending Jesus to pay for my sins with His own precious blood on the cross at Calvary. Thank You for Your presence and provision in my life, and for never leaving me or forsaking me. I give You all praise, honor, and glory this and every day, Amen!
Lord, may my words, deeds and heart rejoice in You all the days of my life.
For God is Great and greatly to be Praised!!!!
