Devotion 6/6, Our Eyes on Jesus

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.   1 Peter 5:7
The words of an old hymn come to mind: “What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! Oh, what peace we often forfeit; oh, what needless pain we bear—all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.”
The good news for an increasingly anxious world is that the Spirit wants to produce peace in our minds, hearts, and lives, and often that can happen when we open ourselves to the Lord in prayer.
Lord God, we live in anxious times in an anxious world. As we cast our cares upon Jesus, grant us peace. We pray in the name of the Prince of Peace, our Lord Jesus. Amen.
Let’s each refresh our spiritual personality with a conversation, a prayer, to turn our eyes to Him. A peace will overcome all the anxiety and stress that bogs us down.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
