Jeremiah 10:23

I know, O Lord that a man’s life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.

When mankind tries to direct his own way in life, disaster follows! God, who designed and created us, always knows what is the very best for us. Sadly, rebellion lurks in the heart of all people, a mindset that says “I will do as I please”. For those of us who know Christ as Lord and Savior however, we have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in us and He instructs us to do as this verse says and let Him guide us through this life. When He directs our steps we avoid the pitfalls that are ever present in our world, those traps that Satan puts in our way that can so easily steal our peace and entangle us, making us ineffective for Christ.

You know, those times when you think that you have followed God’s will but things are not going well it seems. Just because God has a plan for us is not a guarantee that that path is always easy or smooth! But the promise is that He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), and that it will all work out for God’s purpose and our good (Romans 8:28). Our part is to keep our focus fixed on Him and let Him take care of all the details!

Thank you Father for the perfect plan for my life. Even though the path is tough at times, I know that You always know what is best for me. Help me to get out of the way and let You be the leader in all I say and do. Thank you for your endless blessing, your amazing grace and your everlasting mercies. I give You all praise and honor this day, Amen!

God only knows! His plan is the only plan that is best for us. To keep our focus on Him in all we say and do and to listen to the Holy Spirit when making any decision is the only way we can fulfill His plan. His everlasting Word gives us understanding and context for the journey we are on. Praise God for whom ALL blessings flow!
