Devotion 6/24, Lord, for your Glory
Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver us and forgive our sins for your name’s sake.
Psalm 79:9
We certainly do not deserve God’s grace and mercy, but as His children through faith in Jesus Christ, we bear His name in this world and have the mark of the Holy Spirit upon us. We will never be abandoned by God. This is not to say that we can just live in sin and God doesn’t care! To the contrary, He is a good and loving Parent and He will let us suffer the consequences of our disobedience to Him. He may even bring about disciple in our lives to bring us back to Him for our own good. But He will never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).
When we truly love God we will desire to live lives that are in obedience to Him and His Word, yes we will mess up, but He knows our hearts and when we come to Him with a contrite and broken heart because of our sinful behavior, He is faithful and just to forgive us (1John 1:9) and help us to live for Him! What a wonderful God we serve!
Father God, thank You for Your blessings love, mercy, and grace. I know that there is no possible way that I deserve it, but through the blood of Christ shed for me, I have it! Help me to keep my life at the feet of Jesus and to bring You glory and honor all the days that You give me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
Lord, I choose to live passionately for Your Glory.
