But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Acts 1:8

Sometimes the most profound truths are very simple. The power to reach the world for Christ involves God’s might working through Jesus’ disciples empowered by the Holy Spirit. Jesus tells his disciples about God’s plan for them to begin where they are (HERE — “Jerusalem”), reaching out to those who are close geographically (NEAR — “all Judea and Samaria”), and go into all the world (FAR — “to the ends of the earth”). Our worldwide witness is based upon our willingness to tell others what God has done for us in Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to make that witness effective!

Our faith in Christ is not a possession, it is a blessing from God and the Holy Spirit that is meant to be shared. Being a Christian is a call to act on behalf of Christ.

Being a brother or sister in Christ, you want to share what God has done for you, share your story, share the gospel of Christ.

Father God, thank You for sending Jesus to die for my sins, for raising Him from the dead, and for giving my life true meaning and purpose, that being to serve You. Help me to recognize each opportunity to share You with those in my world. I give You all praise, honor, and glory this day, Amen!

Let the Holy Spirit move you, then, from the bottom of your heart, sing your soul! Our Lord loves to here us sing to Him…and the whole world! It’s just another way to proclaim your faith and witness for the Lord! Sing your soul!
