Devotion 7/6, Open the eyes of my heart
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. Isaiah 6:1
There is a great lesson for us from the life of Isaiah and John. We will all go through trying, unpleasant, and even tragic times in our lives. But this should never cause us to back away from God, to the contrary, it should draw us closer to Him! God will never allow us to go through something that He will not also give us the strength and peace to endure. It is our part to keep our eyes fixed on Christ and to steadfastly follow Him through the trial looking for ways to bring honor and glory to God in the process.
I know that troubles are not fun, but Lord help us to view them in perspective and persevere for Christ and His glory. He will take care of all our issues in this life for our good when we live in accordance to Him and His purposes (Romans 8:28).
How can God use your crises, hardships, trials, and difficulties? Why don’t you ask him to show you what he is calling you to do to bless those around you?
Father God, thank You for loving me and for all Your perfect care and keeping of me. I pray when trials come my way that I trust in You to bring me through them and give You glory instead of grumbling and complaining. I know that You will give me peace and comfort through things in this life. I give thanks for Your grace, love and mercy and I give You all honor and praise this day, Amen!
Lord, I give thanks You are “always” with me. Open the eyes of my heart, that I may walk in your ways and serve those You will put in my path in word and deeds. This I pray in Your name, Amen.
