Devotion 10/29, Sweet will of God

The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1 John 2:17
In our cultures today, we see many trying to make themselves content and happy by giving into their own “sinful cravings”, like substance abuse, sexual perverseness, foul speech, violence and such. We can hardly go to a movie without being bombarded by things glorified in them that are clearly against God’s Word.
Mankind feels that if they want something they should have it, and if they cannot afford to buy it then they are entitled to take it from someone else because they are not to be denied of possessing what they want no matter who gets hurt in the process.
This world is passing away, so why would we invest heavily in it? Wise, godly people do not live for a world that is passing away. Instead, they live for God and seek to do His will as outlined in His Word. That is true and lasting success, that is where true treasure is found!
Thank You Father for sending Jesus to redeem me to You. Thank You for loving me and for delivering me out of the hand of satan. Help me to do Your will as I give You praise, honor, and glory this day, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
