Devotion 10/30, The good life

Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.  1 Peter 2:12
We are in good company when the unsaved mock us for living for Christ. Jesus endured persecution while He was on this earth as well, much more so than we will ever go through!
This does not give us license to act arrogantly towards anyone. We are never to look down on those who do not yet know Christ, that would be acting in pride and that is blatantly against God’s Word.
When the unsaved see us living as Christ lived, acting in love to all, some will be won over to Christ simply by our godly actions. Some will be won over to Christ by our “reaction” to the false accusations hurled at us. When this happens, those people have now become believers as well and will glorify God on the day He visits (Christ Jesus’ return).
So, can the unsaved look at your life and mine and see the fingerprints of God on it?
Father God, thank You for loving me. Thank You for opening my eyes to the truth of Jesus Christ and for making me Your child through faith in Jesus! I desire to live my life glorifying and honoring You. Help me to be a worthy reflection of Christ in all I say and do this day, for Your glory, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
