Devotion 11/19, I Believe
I am suffering … Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.
2 Timothy 1:12
While Paul was in prison, he was convinced that God is able to guard Paul and all that he has entrusted to Him until Christ’s return one day. A side note, Paul penned many of the books of the New Testament while in prison. I love it, that is a very nice sucker punch to the devil! People are still receiving Christ from Paul’s witness, neither Nero or satan could silence Paul!
Can you just imagine the witness he was for Christ to the other prisoners and the guards? I am quite sure that they saw Christ very clearly shining out of the Apostle through his attitude and faith!
With every fiber of his being, Paul believed that on a specific day known only to God the Father, Jesus the Son would return, every knee would bow, and Paul’s faith in the Lord would be joyously validated. I am convinced Paul’s conviction was on the mark. My life and future are based on that conviction. My prayer is that you share this same conviction, too!
Almighty God, I believe, but please strengthen my faith. No matter what I endure, may my confidence in you remain firm and my hope remain vibrant. I entrust all I am and hope to be into your hands. I believe you will bring me through whatever lies ahead and guide me into your glorious presence with great joy. In Jesus’ glorious name, I pray. Amen.
