Devotion 11/22, Take a minute and give thanks.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21
This verse explains so clearly how God made reconciliation of mankind to Himself possible. All our sins were placed on the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. We must beware of any idea that on the cross Christ actually became sinful, that is false. Our sins were placed ON Him, but they were not IN Him. There is a huge difference between these two thoughts and we must be very sure that we fully understand that Christ never committed one sin. He was God in the flesh when He was on this earth and therefore incapable of sinning. But the penalty of our sins were in fact placed on Him.
From Phip Ware: “We know our fallibility and flaws. God is perfect in every way. We know our imperfections and our inconsistencies! With God, there are no imperfections. He is holy and righteous. So, how can we be “the righteousness of God”? Jesus, the perfect and sinless Righteous One of God, became our sin for us so we could be righteousness in him. More than grace, this is God’s gracious miracle in us! And a miracle, dear friend of Jesus, is precisely what you are!!”
Thank You Lord Jesus for dying for me, help me to live for You each day and bring You all the honor and praise in the process. I worship You this day with a thankful heart, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
