Devotion 12/7, Gentle Shepherd

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”   John 8:12
Jesus has indeed given us a clear and bright hope beyond the grave! Those who do not know Christ are stumbling around in the darkness of this life. Many are trusting in their own intelligence, other people, their wealth, etc., to take them to heaven when they die. But we know that Christ is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). We can introduce them to the true Light that can only be found in Jesus Christ, He is the beacon in the night for their souls.
Wonderful and tender Shepherd, please give me a faithful heart. Even in my deepest moments of darkness and despair, I want to be able to find you as my Light and to share your life with others. In the name of the One who is never darkness, Jesus, the Light of the world, I pray. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
