Devotion 12/9, Chosen

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
1 Peter 2:9
We are chosen as a people with a purpose and for a mission.
Peter lists several powerful reasons why we should live by Jesus’ standards as we demonstrate the values of God’s Kingdom to the watching world: We are chosen by God to be His holy people, part of His royal family. God wants us to live as His priests, declaring the goodness of God to a world trapped in darkness. We are equipped to do this because we know our identity as God’s people, His children, who are made for this purpose. We show others God’s goodness because God has blessed us with His mercy, and we want to share it with others.
Lord, I pray that those reading this today would open their hearts to You and know a love like they have never known before! Know a peace that passes understanding, and a joy that floods their soul! I give You all praise, glory and honor this day Lord, Amen!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
