Devotion 12/12, He is the light and life of the world

In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:4-5
If you have Jesus Christ you have life and light eternal, if you do not have Him, you do not have eternal life but an eternal death that awaits you when you leave this earth. There are no gray or dark areas, it is black and white. Religion tries to muddy things up by placing mankind’s contrived ideas to Scripture, but we are to stick to the facts of the Bible for it is God Himself telling us all we need to know.
So, you may say how does one “have” Christ, well if we go back to verse 1 of 1John 5 we are told how. 1John 5:1 says, “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves His Child as well.”
I love this prayer from Philip Ware-
“For every good and perfect gift (James 1:17), for the inextinguishable Light we have even in our moments of deepest darkness (John 1:5), for the hope of living with you in glorious and unapproachable light (1 Timothy 6:16), we thank you and praise you with eternal joy (Romans 2:7), O God, now and forever. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
