Devotion 12/16, Our blessed Redeemer
[Jesus] had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
Hebrews 2:17
Christ came and walked among mankind for 33 years, He experienced hunger, exhaustion, joy, sadness…etc., so when we go through the trials of life we can be assured that Jesus knows what we are experiencing. He knows what it is like to be human. What a lowly position He took on all out of His love for us. We certainly did nothing to deserve His love but out of His abundant grace and mercy He came to this world and went to the cross to cover all our sins before God and defeat death and hell for good!
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for your incredible sacrifice so I could be adopted into our Father’s family and become your younger sibling in your eternal family. Thank you for this grace motivated by your love for us and accomplished through your faithfulness to the Father. Through your name, Lord Jesus, I offer my praise and thanks to you and trust in you. Amen.
