Devotion 1/2, In the Beginning God

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  Genesis 1:1
These first four words of the Bible form the very foundation for our faith. Believe these words and you can believe all that follows in the Bible. Genesis provides the only authoritative account, not theory, of creation. Before time existed there was God. Before light and dark existed, there was God….before anything, there was God! I take great comfort in this fact. He was not created, He is the Creator!
The Bible has a special name for those who deny the fact of God. That name is “fool” (Ps. 14:1 and 53:1). Just as the Bible begins with God, so He deserves to be “first” in our lives!
Father God thank You for Your Word that we can turn to each day for strength, guidance, and encouragement! Thank You for loving me and for sending Jesus to die for my sin. Help me to follow Your will each day Father, for that is my desire! I give You all praise, honor and glory. Amen.
Lord, Thy Will be Done!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
