Devotion 1/16, Do they see Jesus in me
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. Titus 1:15
Evil corrupts and leaves a residue that corrupts everything it touches and permeates — including the hearts of otherwise decent people. That’s why we are urged to stay far away from evil and avoid its very appearance. That’s also why Jesus died: not only to overcome the evil one but also to clean away the stain and purify our hearts from all of its residues.
When we as Christians interact at work, school, or the market place with the unsaved they will hopefully see a difference in us. We have the indwelling Holy Spirit which enables us to see the good that is around us and to act in love towards these sad souls and offer them the hope that is found only in Christ! If we neglect to tell them the plan of salvation and to show them the love, grace, and mercy of Christ then we have not only done them an injustice, we have missed an opportunity to do as Christ said in Mark 16:15, and Matthew 28:19;
And He (Jesus) said to them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Father, thank You for loving me and for sending Jesus to save my soul and to wash my sins white as snow through His precious blood shed for me! Help me to live out my faith each day and to open my mouth and tell others of Your saving grace. In Jesus’ name I Pray, Amen.
