Devotion 1/28, God so loved the world, He created you, me and Jesus!

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

In the verses prior to this one, God has been creating many things; light, the heavens, fish, animals…etc. Then He creates the crown of His work with the creation of man and woman. He loves humans so much that He made us in His own image and likeness! We are placed on this earth as God’s representatives in that we resemble Him in certain ways. For example, God is a Trinity, He is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Humans also have three parts to our being, we are body, soul, and spirit. Like God we have intellect and a moral nature.

The bible describes the origin of the sexes (male and female) as a creative act of God. Evolution has never been able to explain how the sexes began. And they never will for God created them male and female.
God does not make mistakes, if He created you a man then you are to be a man, if He created you a woman then you are to be a woman.  God created us as we are to be.

What love God has for us that He created us in His very own image. And that He went on to save us from ourselves by sending Jesus to this earth to shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins!

Almighty Creator, please help me value each person I meet today and each day going forward. I want to value them because I am consciously aware that you have individually and uniquely made each of them to reflect your character and nature. At the same time, bless me with spiritual growth as I consciously submit myself to your Spirit as you transform me to be more like you each day (2 Corinthians 3:18). In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

God so the world, He gave Man and Woman His Son!  Oh what love!
