Devotion 2/1, God’s Grace

Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the Lord … they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes

Proverbs 1:29,31

Starting in verse 20 of this chapter, Wisdom is calling out to all who will listen.
In these verses, the outcome of rebellion to God and not heeding His Word is revealed. These scorners stubbornly refused to reverence God, and hated His instruction (God’s Word). These types of people are ones who mock the gospel and believe they do not need God for they are their own “gods”. No being is going to tell them how to live for they are going to choose their own way, and in the process become fools instead!
Romans 1:22
Although they claim to be wise, they became fools. These headstrong rebellious people will not accept the instruction and advice given in God’s Word the Bible. They claim that it is just another “book”, maybe good for historical reasons, but not something that is to be obeyed. Not something that can give them wise counsel for living their lives.

Simply put ,these people will not get out of having to stand before God and receive the punishment that is coming to them for their sinful ways. They will taste the rotten fruit of their evil practices!

Father of justice and mercy, thank you for saving me by your grace. Thank you for promising to judge the world with grace, mercy, and justice. In you, and you alone, do I find any sense of what is right and fair. I cry out to you, O God, for justice and deliverance for your people who are oppressed, ridiculed, and persecuted. I also plead for repentance and the turn to Jesus for those who do not yet know him as Lord and Savior. In his name, I pray. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
