Devotion 2/27, Counting My Blessings

This brings to mind another verse that tells us that the LORD has done great things!   Psalm 126:2
Our mouths are filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”

What a lesson for us in this wonderful verse. As believers in Jesus Christ and therefore God’s children, we can certainly look at our lives and see the loving care of our awesome God! He has blessed us beyond measure no matter the current circumstances we are in because He has rescued us from an eternity in hell through the death, burial, and resurrection of His one and only Son Jesus Christ! Every morning as we rise we have a lot to be joyful about, we have many reasons to praise Him and to tell others of God’s greatness in our lives. Think of the testimony our lives can be to those who do not yet know Christ. When they see us with a smile on our face and joy in our hearts, they may want that same joy for themselves, giving us an opportunity to share the reason for our joy, Jesus Christ! The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Is there any emotion that is more sought after in our world today than joy?

Most gracious Father, thank You for the joy You have brought to my life. Thank You for the never-ending love that You have for me. Help me to show this joy and love to those in my world each day Father, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
