Devotion 3/1, I Pray

For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.             Genesis 2:24

The marriage between man and woman is an earthly example of the relationship between Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:31-32). Christ loves His bride ( the church – all believers in Christ), to the point that He laid down His life for her, this is how a man is to love his wife. A woman is to look to and respect her husband as the leader in the family just as Christ is the Head of the church. This is explained in depth in Ephesians 5:21-33.

Marriage is a sacred union before God and is never to be taken lightly. God instituted marriage between a man and woman for our good. The marriage relationship is a wonderful thing when done as God lays it out in His Word. He created us and therefore knows what will make us fulfilled and content in this life. When we follow His order is when we will be at our very best!

Father, thank You for sending Jesus to lay down His life for my sins at the cross of Calvary! Thank You for creating the marriage bond and for giving me a wonderful godly wife. Help our marriage to be an accurate example to others of Christ’s love for His Bride the church. I give You all honor, praise, and glory this day, AMEN!

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
