Devotion 3/10, What a Glorious Day That Will Be!

When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.  Colossians 3:4

This brings to mind another verse:
1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

I love how Peter uses the full name of the Lord Jesus Christ:
Lord – the only One with exclusive right to rule in hearts and lives.
Jesus – the One who saves His people from their sins.
Christ – God’s anointed One who has been exalted to heavens highest place.

God did not have to make a way for us to be saved, He could have just washed His hands of all of humanity. But He instead chose to have great and abundant mercy on us by sending Jesus to shed His blood for the forgiveness of our sins giving us a new birth, and by giving us a living hope through raising Christ back to life. The resurrection is the Father’s “Amen” to our Lord’s cry, “It is finished!” (John 19:30). The resurrection is also a pledge to all who die in Christ, that we will be raised as well from among the dead!

Holy and Righteous God, we thank you for your overwhelming and generous grace that saved us from sin. Thank you for Jesus, whose resurrection from the dead ensures our ultimate transformation into life forever with you and the resurrection reunion we will have with all who belong to you. Until that day when we get to praise you face to face, please receive our thanks and praise in Jesus’ name. Amen. https://youtu.be/7eDFGAUT-9A?feature=shared

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
