Devotion 3/21, Because of Him I have been changed!

[The Lord God said to the serpent,] “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Genesis 3:15
There certainly is perpetual hostility between Eve’s seed (humans) and satan’s seed (his agents). But praise be to God, He sent our Deliverer Jesus Christ to defeat satan at the cross and bring eternal life to all who place their faith in Him!
Some people think that God is harsh and unloving. But you can see that His mercy, love, and grace run through the entire Word of God. Yes, He will cast people into hell one day because of their rejection of Christ, but that is never His wish to do so. He desires that no one should perish (2 Peter 3:9), but that all would come to Christ. If God did not love us He could have just destroyed mankind many times, but He didn’t, He wants a relationship with us; His love is far greater than we will ever understand this side of heaven!
Jesus Christ crushed the head of satan when He died and rose from the grave, and furthermore satan knows he is defeated! The devil is therefore making the most of the time he has to blind people to the truth of Jesus Christ. He is also working 24/7 to trip up we who have trusted Christ by placing temptation to sin in our path each day. But we have the power of the God of the universe living on the inside of us and through Him we can stop the devil in his evil little tracks (1 John 4:4). The fact is we are more than conquerors through Christ (Romans 8:37), so Lord help us to live like we are!
Thank you, dear Father, for taking the stinger out of death and establishing an assured hope for my future. I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and that you will raise me and bless me with life forever in your presence. For this enduring victory, I praise you in Jesus’ name. Amen.

About Mike & Marcia

I started this journey trying to help someone that had reached out during some troubled times they were dealing with personally.
Turns out in the process I had to deal with my own anger and disappointment with the situation. I prayed for guidance which lead me to giving it up to Christ. It helped me help them writing a daily devotional and in the process I realized my own devotions were lacking. It's now my daily routine. I pray if nothing else it helps to focus on our God of grace if only for a moment for everyone that read them.
I do take requests and any comments.
